This session of the IALEFI Master Instructor Development Program (MIDP) is a three day intensive handgun skills course.
 
Different proven methodologies will be used to enhance the teaching skills of the police firearms instructor. Hands-on skills will progress from the basics to the more complex and all participants regardless of skill level will find themselves challenged. Practical exercise will put an emphasis on both practical marksmanship and operational skills.
  
Throughout the 3 day program, participants will be shown a number of drills designed to improve the performance of both proficient and problem shooters. The information presented will prove especially useful in creating a positive training experience that will ultimately result in greater officer safety.

Course Requirements:
1) Pistol and holster, 1000 rounds, and 10 dummy rounds  
2) Duty gun belt and holster with service handgun. 
3) Concealment handgun, plainclothes holster and covering garment.
4) Black Marker, wrap around eye protection, ear protection and brimmed hat
5) Hydration fluids and snacks

Driving Directions:

The NJ Conservation Officer’s range is located in the Colliers Mills Wildlife Management Area in Jackson. The entrance to the area is located at the intersection of Colliers Mills and Hawkin Rds. in Jackson Twp. Enter the WMA and follow the signs to the range.

• Directions: From north N.J., New York, New England: NJ Turnpike south to exit 7A. Take Rt. 195 East to Exit 16.  Take Rt. 537 south to Rt. 539. Make left on Rt. 539 and go about  2 miles.  You will pass a speedway on the left. The road after the speedway is Colliers Mills Road. Make left, go 0.9 miles and enter Colliers Mills WMA. Go 200 yards  bear right through gate to range.

• Directions: South NJ/PA: Rt. 70 to Rt. 539 North. Go approx. 8 miles, look for Colliers Mills Road on left. (4th blacktop road past Rt. 70) make right and follow above directions.

• All range activities require a hat, wrap around eye protection and ear protection, and soft body armor is recommended.
